The Massive Data Institute (MDI) at the McCourt School of Public Policy is focused on broadening our community by increasing the footprint of our interdisciplinary research and our relationship to the community. As a central hub for technology and policy conversations and research at Georgetown University, the MDI Non-Resident Affiliate program will bring in experts across disciplines to generate new knowledge and contribute to the intellectual discussions at MDI. Launched in Fall 2024, MDI Non-Resident Affiliate program provides experts across disciplines and opportunity to create meaningful connections with faculty, staff, and students associated with MDI.

Eleni Antoniadou Dimokidis, Ph.D.
Eleni Antoniadou Dimokidis, Ph.D. (she/her) is the Head of Healthcare Technology across Asia Pacific and Japan at Amazon Web Services. In this capacity, she spearheads healthcare technology innovation taking the lead in nationwide digital transformations of hospital systems through close collaboration with Ministries of Health and governments. With a wealth of experience as a technology leader and legal advisor, she possesses a multidisciplinary education, holding a PhD in Regenerative Medicine from University College London, an MSc in Bioengineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MSc in Nanotechnology from University College London, an LLB in Law from University of London and a BSc in Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics from University of Thessaly. Andrew Gamino-Cheong
Andrew Gamino-Cheong (he/him) is the co-founder & CTO of Trustible, a DC based AI governance software company focused on helping organizations manage and mitigate AI risk, build trust, and accelerate responsible AI development. In his role at Trustible, Andrew participates in AI safety research, evangelizes responsible AI practices, and contributes to standard setting work by the IEEE, and NIST AI Safety Institute Consortium. Prior to Trustible, Andrew spent 7.5 years at FiscalNote (NYSE: NOTE) in a variety of software engineer, tech lead, and engineering director roles where he helped FiscalNote build proprietary data ingestion systems, scalable search infrastructure, and a collaborative machine learning platform. Andrew has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland where he was advised by Dr Philip Resnik, and a B.S in Computer Science and Government from Georgetown University where he did research with Dr Lisa Singh. An MDI Non-Resident Affiliate is expected to contribute to the technology and policy conversation taking place at MDI. We provide opportunities for contributing to existing research initiatives, developing new areas of research, mentoring students, contributing to our event series (or starting new events), providing subject matter expertise, guest lecturing, writing briefs, and collaborating with MDI faculty and staff. Because we are always innovating, MDI Non-Resident Affiliates are also welcome to suggest new avenues of contribution. We anticipate having different types of MDI Non-Resident Affiliates,with focuses on research, policy, and technology and innovation.
All published materials by MDI Non-Resident Fellows will attribute an affiliation with the Massive Data Institute at the McCourt School of Public Policy somewhere on the publication. At times when that is not possible, the Director can give exceptions.
The MDI Non-Resident Affiliate appointment is a 2-year commitment. The terms of participating in this program include:
Generate new knowledge and contribute to the intellectual discussions at MDI.
Publish at least one brief, op-ed, or article that is relevant to the mission of MDI during the appointment period. All published materials by MDI Non-Resident Affiliate will attribute an affiliation with the “Massive Data Institute at the McCourt School of Public Policy” somewhere on the publication. At times when that is not possible, MDI Director can give exceptions.
Visit MDI at least three times a semester unless otherwise discussed with the MDI Director in advance of appointment.
Identify meaningful ways to engage with faculty, staff, and students associated with MDI.
Access to limited funds each year and support from our administrative team in order to implement and support any programming needs (expenses will need approval by MDI Director, and expenses will be paid for through MDI); if planning for larger events, discuss additional support options with the MDI Director or Associate Director.
MDI Non-Resident Affiliates are welcome to re-apply when their term comes to an end.
Interested applicants should send a curriculum vitae, and a statement detailing how they, as prospective Affiliates, will support the mission of MDI during their tenure. While applications are accepted on a rolling basis, this program will follow the academic calendar. Applications will be reviewed by the MDI Executive Committee quarterly, so please note that there might be a gap in response times.
