Yiming Wu

Yiming Wu is an AI Policy Fellow at Georgetown University's Massive Data Institute (MDI), working on data privacy and AI governance in education contexts.

His work centers on Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs) including synthetic data evaluation and record linkage methodology, with a core focus on the application and evaluation of GenAI within these workflows, assessing where AI-native approaches to data synthesis and de-identification hold up against established methods, and where they introduce new risks around statistical fidelity and PII leakage. Beyond evaluation, he actively builds in this space by developing sustainable data infrastructure over privacy compliance and AI Risk Management frameworks, and currently contributing to a platform for responsible data synthesis in government contexts.

Yiming holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a bachelor's degree from Brandeis University.
